Slavi Binev – the most recognizable figure in the history of martial arts in Bulgaria. The sport career of Slavi Binev (5th Dan Taekwondo, WTF) is remarkable with numerous national and international successes. During the period from 1987 till 1992, he becomes Taekwondo Champion of Bulgaria several times and won a number of international tournaments. In 1990 he becomes Absolute Balkan Champion in Taekwondo, but the peak of his career is the European Championship in Taekwondo title in Slovenia in 1992. From 1990 till 1994 he is the manager of CSKA and the national team. He is a 5-th Dan judge at international championships. He trained and created some outstanding names like – Dessi Kirova (Daisy Lang), Stefka Gyorcheva, Andrei Georgiev, Anton Kassabov and many others.
Slavi Binev is the only Bulgarian member of the World Taekwondo Federation. He is a member of the Executive Board of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC). Apart from that, Slavi Binev is the Chairman of the Vocation Fund at the BOC and the State Agency for Youth and Sport (SAYS). He is also the head of the Social Committee at BOC.
