This Tuesday in EP Strasbourg a report was voted to set a commun visa restrictions on Russian officials implicated in the case of arrest and torture in the death of Russian journalist Sergei Magnitsky. Through this report, Europe criticizes and condemns Russia for violations of human rights and the poor functioning of the justice system. According to the Bulgarian MEP Slavi Binev, however, the words used in the report to describe the situation in Russia are equally valid for the situation in Bulgaria.

The Bulgarian MEP and Chairman of PROUD Slavi Binev was invited by the Coordinator of European Socialists in the Commission on fight against Corruption and Organised Crime (CRIM) Tanja Fajon to present in short interview the situation with freedom of speech. The Slovenian MEP asked Binev to provide more details about case of Misho Shamara, which was presented earlier this week on a press conference in Strasbourg.

At a joint press conference in Strasbourg Slavi Binev, MEP and Chairman of PROUD, his fellow deputy. Chairman of the Socialist Group Tanja Fajon, committed to the freedom of speech in the European Union and rap artist Misho Shamara provided a number of facts related to the violation of civil rights in Bulgaria by the ruling GERB.
