24/02/2008 85% of the Bulgarians supported Archon Binev against the independence of Kosovo
85% of the Bulgarians who watched the TV show “Sblasak” yesterday supported the position of “Ataka”, expressed by the member of the European Parliament, the nationalist Slavi Binev against the independence of Kosovo. The former Minister of Defence and the National Movement Simeon II dissenter, Nikolay Svinarov, who also took part in the TV clash, supported by the youth section of IMRO leader in Sofia, defended some vague and unclear position. Both of them insisted that Bulgaria should support Kosovo but the Bulgarians did not support them and they gained only 15% of the TV audience’s vote. Archon Slavi declared the principle position of the party of the nationalists and commented that there should be no new republic of terrorists on the Balkans. His partner in the dispute and a violent defender of our national interests was the journalist of “Pogled” newspaper Iliya Iliev.
“All of us should respect the laws and be equally treated. Kosovars violate the territorial and border laws while the UN tolerates this behavior, which has nothing to do with democracy”, Binev stated. He rhetorically asked if the UN interferes in the same brutal way in Spain, the citizens would allow that to happen. “We can’t and it isn’t right to say that the Serbs are nasty bastards, since a terrorists’ state has been established on their territory.” Binev added. The journalist Iliya Iliev commented that there would never be a Republic of Kosovo. “Just like there is no state of Israel because without the protection of the US it can’t really exist.” he clarified.
The members of the European Parliament from “Ataka” Slavi Binev, Dimitar Stoyanov and Dessislav Chukolov declared their firm position against the unilateral independence of Kosovo one week ago. The position was announced at the European Parliament in the speech of the MP Slavi Binev. In the parliamentary hall in Strasbourg, he defined the decision of the parliament in Prishtina as an act of unilateral separatism, which is unacceptable precedent in the international relations. “As members of the European Parliament, we consider that the assembly is not authorized to vote an act of independence and that is the reason why the separatists’ government consisting of proven drug smugglers and war criminals is illegitimate. The acknowledgement of Kosovo’s independence by certain European countries or the EU as a whole will amnesty the leaders of the Albanian terrorists who have carried out ethnic cleansing of all non-Albanian communities in the region during the last several years. We would like to express our extreme repulsion and indignation in regard to the fact that this ethnic cleansing and the destruction of hundreds of Medieval Orthodox Churches in the region of Metohia, Kosovo has been quietly observed by the NATO and the UN international security forces. Considering the executed crimes, we declare our position against the artificial establishment of a new Muslim state, which function will be to serve as a base for trafficking weapons, people and drugs to Western Europe. Being the representatives of the Bulgarian people to the EU, we appeal to its institutions to do not acknowledge the independence of Kosovo but to follow the resolutions of the UN Security Council”, the member of the European Parliament Binev stated at the end of his speech.
