Special Olympics, Belgium and UEFA, with the support of the European Commission, organized a football tournament called "Special Olympics - football in the park" in Leopold Park, just next to the building of the European Parliament in Brussels.
The tournament was officially opened by the European Commissioner for Culture and Education, Jan Figel. Prior to the tournament, all the participants, together with Commissioner Figel, the President of Anderlecht, Roger Vanden Stock and the representatives of the European Parliament and the European Commission took a photo

He is a member of the research committee at WTF. Apart from that, since 2002, he is a member of the Financial Committee at the European Taekwondo Union (ETU). Slavi Binev is also Vice-president of the Bulgarian Taekwondo Federation and Chairman of the Committee for Social Assistance for Sportsmen under the Bulgarian Olympic Committee (BOC). He has been awarded with the honorable ETU Gold Medal. He is the youngest international master in the Korean martial arts on the Balkans with 5-th Dan.

Slavi Binev in the highest management body of the BOC
The highest acknowledgement for the Bulgarian Taekwondo in 2005 was the election of Slavi Binev in the highest management body of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee – the Executive Board. .
This was a categorical acknowledgement of his achievements not only in the area of the Korean martial art but in sports as a whole. Having been a competitor, a trainer and a coach, now Mr. Slavi Binev is the high official who has made great things for the Taekwondo in Bulgaria
