MEP Slavi Binev honoured with his presence the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The event was held on January 25th in the European Parliament in Brussels, under the patronage of the EP President Jerzy Buzek. Organizators were the European Jewish Congress, European Jewish Community Center, and the European Jewish Coalition. Binev spoke with Yuli Edelstein, Israeli Minister of Media, Telecommunications and Diaspore, and he expressed his respect and honour to all the Holocaust victims and their families. Our Eurodeputy pointed out the fact that Bulgaria was one of the few countries, which had not yielded its jews. Binev had the opportunity to meet Ronald Lauder, president of the World Jewish Congress, and one of the main shareholders of the world renown cosmetic company “ Estee Lauder”. Last year he became as well the proprietor of the National TV Programme “bTV”. Among the guests were also the Major Rabbi of Tel Aviv and Chairman of Yad Vashem Meyir Law, to whom Binev was introduced by his colleagues Hannu Takkula and EP Vice-President Lazslo Tokes.
