22/02/12 - Binev on a meeting with Nobel laureate
The MEP Slavi Binev met with Her Excellency the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina. During the meeting, the Council of Ministers in Dhaka, Binev raised the degrees of talks as raised the issue of Grameen Bank and its founder Professor Yunus. Binev asked how such a person who is the focus of the world community should not be used to promote the country. Binev explained that his question is not provocative and that there is not any special purpose beyond his curiosity. Her Excellency answered that question by saying that it makes her wonder whether or not to support Professor Yunos for President of one of the world's organizations and why not the World Bank. Hasina added that she seeks dialogue with the Nobel Prize Winner and Binev kindly offered his services for this purpose. The conversation between Binev and the Prime Minister attracted the attentionm of not only of the local media, but the the world’s, some of which printed the new proposal of Hasina that Yunos should head the World Bank as the number one news from Bangladesh.
Binev program continues with meetings with government ministers, representatives of the National Assembly of Bangladesh, NGOs, opposition parties as well as representatives of the Electoral Commission. During informal discussions held everybody united around the idea that the price of poor management is paid by everyone, even by those who support him and think they earn by it.
After meeting with Hasina, Binev and his colleagues conducted a conversation with former Prime Minister Mrs Hadela Ziya.
