"The Chess in School" enters into the curriculum of the EU
At the opening of the last day's plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, the President Martin Schulz declared in the plenary hall, the adoption of the written declaration of "Chess in School", whose main contributor and author is Slavi Binev. The declaration will be sent to the Commission and to the national parliaments of the member states together with the list of the MEPs signed it, and it will became an integral part of the EU legislation in part education. The text was supported by representatives from all member states of the union and from all the political groups in parliament, which shows the attitude they have towards our MEP in European institutions.
The president Shultz gave the floor to Slavi Binev, who thanked his colleagues for their support and congratulated the head of the European Chess Federation Silvio Danailov, who was also present in the hall and who follows the event.
Binev stressed that the broad support that they have received, proved that good ideas have no political boundaries and prejudices. He added that "this is more than good, because what is good for our children is good for our future."
After the speech Binev was applauded by his colleagues for the inspiring speech and for the successful initiative.
